COMPOSITIONS
Leila Adu-Gilmore has established herself a composer who seamlessly moves between genres and weaves breathtaking swathes of sound into rich, sonic tapestries. Her work has been performed by Bang on a Can, Mivos Quartet, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and she has sung her own compositions as Orchestra Wellington’s 2014 Emerging-Composer-in-Residence, Chatterbird Ensemble, Useful Chamber and Sō Percussion. Her compositions have been performed at Ojai Festival, the Kennedy Centre, Bang on a Can and Big Ears Festival and she has written and produced music for documentary, dance, theater and short film.
